McKenna is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Training (LPC-IT) who holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marquette University, specializing in Child and Adolescent Counseling. She also received advanced training in early childhood mental health and gained experience in both inpatient and outpatient care at Children’s Wisconsin before entering private practice. This combination of education and hands-on experience helps her understand how children process big emotions and navigate challenges. McKenna uses play-based and age-appropriate strategies to help young children express themselves and develop coping skills in ways that feel natural and engaging.

McKenna approaches therapy with curiosity, compassion, and a focus on helping children feel seen and understood. She believes changes in mood, behavior, or motivation often reflect deeper experiences. She works with each child and family to thoughtfully explore these patterns while teaching practical coping strategies.

She works primarily with children, young teens, and their families, supporting concerns such as anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, medical or developmental challenges, and life transitions. Using evidence-based, age-appropriate practices, McKenna helps young clients build self-awareness, confidence, and lasting resilience in a safe, supportive space.

Her goal is to partner with families to overcome challenges and build lasting emotional well-being.
